How do B and A instructions differ?

Those that have already passed both B and motorcycle licence will already know that during the instruction of A category there are more challenges. And if during the 1st driving classes with a car it seems as if you pass by the signs in such a speed that you actually miss them, this can be felt even more on a motorcycle - because the eyes and head have to be lifted above, which is not actually so easy when you sit on a motorcycle. And on the figure field a real dexterity challenge is awaiting - there are a whole of 8 figures that have to be mastered! However, only this way it is possible to make sure that the driver is prepared enough to join in the traffic with other road users.

The knowledge that was learnt during the training of B category turns out very useful when it comes to A category as well. If you already have a B category licence, you will have to attend only 3 theoretical classes. If the licence for B category has not yet been obtained but you want to get the A category licence - you will have to attend 12 theoretical classes. In general, the minimum number of only 5 driving lessons is set by the government; however, usually it takes more than 5 classes to master the driving skills, even though it depends very much on the experience of the driver.

Unlike the B category student, the A category driver has more freedom and also responsibility, because there is no instructor sitting next to him who could stop the car by braking or use the gas pedal instead of the student when it is needed. However, the trainee is not left alone in traffic - there is a walkie-talkie and the instructor follows from behind, giving the trainee the necessary instructions and making sure of safety. The training starts first in the field and not in real traffic. Only when the instructor is convinced of the future motorcyclist's driving skills and technical readiness, can a decision be made to let the driver get on the streets.

How fast can you get a licence?

Be that as it may, also the motorcycle licence in Presto can be obtained as fast as in 3 months. The same as it is for category B. In fact, with a motorcycle, there is an even higher chance of achieving this goal in an even shorter time - 1 month is enough for many to get the licence. This can be explained by the fact that the set minimum number of practical driving lessons is more than half less than it is for category B. In addition, theoretical training for those who already have a category B licence is significantly shorter. But then again everything depends on each individual case - whether there is previous driving experience or the trainee is going to drive a motorcycle for the 1st time in his life.

If the training process for category B continues throughout the whole year, then A category training is adjusted to certain seasons and weather conditions. Officially the training period ends by the beginning of november and is resumed again in the spring. If there is no rain or snow, the training season can also get prolonged. However, in general it means that in this year there are only a few months left to fulfill the dream of a motorcycle. Of course, in the spring the training will be restarted again… But it means that you will have to wait at least half a year more to sit on the back of the shining iron rumac.

It should be taken into account that in case of unfavorable weather conditions motorcycle training is not possible. Therefore, when it comes to obtaining a category A licence, it is very important to make good use of each sunny day when the motorcycle can be ridden. It is best to book classes each day. In driving school Presto it is possible because the schedule is not as limited as it is elsewhere. It is also possible to book classes on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as on festive days. Thanks to that, you really cannot miss even a single day of training!

Unfortunately, if you keep on postponing lessons during your training, the warm days and favorable driving conditions may come to an end, meaning that it will no longer be possible to attend motorcycle lessons. In such cases, the training will be shifted to the spring season. However, to make sure it does not happen to you, it is important to plan your time wisely and predict the possible risks. Intensive training of 3-4 classes a week will ensure the best results, as well as permit the gaining of the licence as fast as possible. But when there are large gaps between each class, the pace of the training becomes stagnant.

How should a future motorcyclist prepare?

First of all, it all starts with concluding a contract remotely on presto.lv. However, it should also be remembered that one must obtain a medical certificate (if it has not already been obtained due to category B), as well as obtain a white license or driving permit from the Road Traffic Safety Directorate (if the student does not already have category B licence). Unlike the driver, a motorcyclist has to choose very specific clothing and accessories. A helmet is always needed. Before your first driving lesson, you can choose the one you like best. However, the representatives of the fair sex must remember that in that case, especially beautiful and complicated hairstyles must be forgotten - without a helmet, a woman motorcyclist can not go anywhere!

Protective clothing must also be bought. In addition, it is not always necessary to choose a massive motorcyclist jumpsuit, it may as well be a fitting and tight costume that highlights the attractive curves and body shape. The importance of such a protective suit will soon be appreciated - knee and elbow guards are built into it and it protects against strong winds while riding the motorcycle. Also, it will soon be an additional element of visual identity that allows you to be recognized as a motorcyclist!
